I just checked the last post I wrote and it was in January…oops! How did that happen? where has time gone? what have i been up to? the real thing is, i’ve been practicing a lot more balance and putting social media and blogging on the back burner for a bit to focusing on living in the moment and enjoying myself more. Yes, I’m still fitness-ing, (thats definitely not a word, but sounded like a perfect way to use it) teaching my conditioning class, and eating healthy! However, i did take a huge break off my meal plan (loosely tracking macros) for some mental clarity and being able to enjoy myself with friends, having drinks (i turned 21!!), and went on Spring Break with friends. So of course, workouts have been missed and treats have been enjoyed, but now I’m right back on track! One thing I noticed during my original cut post holidays was that my body stopped responding to the macros that worked last year, so I changed it up before Spring Break and did some trial and error for a few weeks to figure out what worked. The body is so intriguing in how it adapts and how it utilizes your fuel, I used to respond to high fat and low carbs, but now moderate/high carbs and lower fat is working for me.
Anywho! I’m excited to get back into blogging (hopefully once a week depending on my schedule!), Vlogging here and there (not certain how often it will be!), and sharing life events, workouts, fitness and health tips, and more! Last week I decided I want to start sharing my workouts with my friends/family/followers, so I logged each of my workouts– including the classes I teach! I took one rest day this past week when my mom visited! I usually do 1-2 rest days each week for my body to recover and relax when I’m stressed with school. Side note, vacation taught me a ton about myself in regards to energy! I haven’t taken a real vacation and off week of
workouts in forever and I had so much energy. I usually am tired everyday at school no matter how much sleep I get, but when I was able to relax, my body and mind were alert the entire day, my mood was great and I didn’t stress eat (: . Therefore, I am really trying to prioritize my assignments and give myself me time throughout the week. I make workouts a priority, because that is truly an outlet for me to forget about everything and enjoy myself. My boyfriend and I have been trying to go out once a week for dinner to connect and relax with each other because dates are my favorite and its nice to have different scenery with a place to catch up at!
Below are all the workouts I did this week! I’m incorporating more cardio into my weekly workouts to get leaner, instead of cutting more calories. Before spring break I did cardio once a week and focused mainly on lifting. Right now I’m trying to do 20-40 minutes of cardio 3-4 times a week. Sometimes I do more because I know I won’t always be able to get cardio in due to busy-ness! I am also planning to do more full body workouts here and there, however, most of the workouts you will see are split up with different muscle groups worked each day.
Let me know what you think if you try out my workouts (be aware weight lifted may be heavy, so choose weights that work for you!), and if you have any suggestions for future posts! I hope you have a wonderful week (:
